Yesterday around 3pm I lost my DeWalt 20V cordless drill on a quick break at the Wright Brothers National Memorial parking lot along US-158 in Kill Devil Hills, Outer Banks. It’s in a bright yellow hard case with a black handle, and the drill itself has a small blue painter’s tape label reading 'J-06' on the side. I left the case on the bench near the parked cars while I tackled a little shelf install at home, and the spare battery and charger are not inside the case now. This tool is my go-to for last-minute repairs, and I’d be really grateful to get it back if anyone happened to find it.
I lost my red knit Santa hat yesterday around 3pm near the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills. It’s a red knit with white faux-fur trim, about a medium fit, and there’s a tiny blue snowflake embroidered on the cuff. I tucked a pine-scent sachet inside, so you might notice a little pine smell if you grab it. It’s a sentimental keepsake from our family Christmas trip to the Outer Banks, and I’d be really grateful to get it back. If found, email [email protected].
I lost my white plastic ID card yesterday around 3pm near the Jennette's Pier parking lot in Nags Head. It's a standard-size card with a thin blue border, my photo on the left, and the name 'Alex Rivera' in bold along the top. The back has a small coffee stain and a tiny sea turtle sticker I put there last summer. It’s the library/studying ID I use for borrowing books and campus access, and it has sentimental value because my grandmother helped me get it. If anyone found it, I’d really appreciate getting it back!
I lost my Nintendo Switch yesterday around 3pm in the Outer Banks. It was in a black zip-up case with a blue dolphin sticker on the front. The Switch itself has neon blue and neon red Joy-Cons, and the screen has a small crack in the top-right corner. I think I left it in the parking lot near Bodie Island Lighthouse after grabbing a snack; it might have slid under a bench by a trash can. This item is sentimental to me—it's a gift from my grandfather—and I’d be incredibly grateful to get it back if found.
I lost my blue plush dragon, about 8 inches tall, yesterday around 3pm. It’s a soft blue velour dragon with tiny orange felt wings and a white heart stitched on its chest; there’s a tiny snag on the tail and a small stain near the wing seam. I had it with me near the Nags Head Fishing Pier parking lot by the Outer Banks boardwalk when we were headed back toward the souvenir shops. It’s categorized under Children’s Toys & Games and means a lot to us—my kid's grandmother gave it to them, so it has sentimental value. If anyone found it, drop me a note at [email protected]; I’d be really grateful to get it back.
I found a silver bracelet with a single turquoise bead near the Bodie Island Lighthouse parking area this afternoon around 2:30pm. It’s a 7.5-inch sterling silver piece with a simple lobster clasp and a subtle wave pattern etched along the outside. The turquoise bead is a bright sky blue with natural veining, and there’s a tiny dolphin charm dangling from the clasp. Inside the clasp I can faintly see the initials 'A.M.' The bracelet looks gently worn but still in good condition. If this belongs to someone, I’d really love to help get it back to its owner.
I found a silver-tone bracelet (Miscellaneous Jewellery) on the Outer Banks boardwalk this afternoon around 3:15 pm, near Jennette's Pier in Nags Head. It's a 7-inch wave-pattern bracelet with a tiny seashell charm and a turquoise bead, and the back of the clasp is engraved with the initials 'AK'. The piece is in decent condition, a little beach-worn but still shiny, with the shell charm showing a gentle patina. If the owner sees this, I’d love to return it; I know it probably has sentimental value.
I found a navy knit beanie with an orange pom-pom this afternoon. It's an adult-sized beanie, soft acrylic, with a ribbed cuff and a small snag along the left edge. I picked it up in the parking lot behind the Outer Banks Brewing Station on Colington Road in Kill Devil Hills around 2:15 pm. There’s a faint coffee stain on the inside and a tiny blue thread stitched into the pom-pom that makes it easy to spot. If this is yours, send a message here and we can sort it out.
I found a small calico cat this afternoon around 3:15pm wandering near the Duck Town Park playground in Duck, Outer Banks. It has a pink collar with a tiny blue bell and white paws with an orange patch over its right eye. The cat looked a little nervous at first, but it let me pet it after I offered tuna from a can. It seems healthy and responsive, purring when I spoke softly. If someone is missing a cat that matches this description, please reach out—I’d love to reunite them. I can bring it to a local vet or shelter if needed.
I found a Kindle Paperwhite this afternoon around 3:45 pm, tucked behind a bench near the Whalehead Club along Lighthouse Drive in Corolla, Outer Banks. It’s in a bright neon yellow silicone case with a tiny sea turtle sticker on the back. The screen shows a few minor scratches on the bezel, but it powers up fine and the docking cable is still attached. Inside the device, there’s a bookmark peeking out with a note that reads 'NC road trip memories'—clearly a travel buddy. If you recognize it, message me here with the last book you were reading so I can verify and get it back to you.
