I’m Emily Turner. I lost my saxophones after a sunset walk along the Outer Banks. It was about 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, near the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse parking area in Buxton. The two horns sit in a tan leather case, one alto with gold lacquer and a silver tenor, the blue strap peeking out. I keep replaying that moment when we turned toward our rental and the back seat was empty. Those instruments carry years of gigs and late practices by the shore; they’re part of me.
