Lost Devices in Duluth / Superior, MN
9:50 p.m. Friday, September 3, in Canal Park, Duluth, near the Aerial Lift Bridge, I realized my backpack with my laptop and phone had vanished. I had just walked back from the lake after grabbing a bite, and I must have set the bag down on a bench while I checked a map. The devices are my work and a stash of family photos, and I’m sick with worry about who might have them. The night air and the bright lights glittering on the water felt cruel in that moment, and I kept circling back to where I stood, hoping someone turned them in or that they’re somewhere safe by Bayfront Park.
