Lost paintings near Canal Place, Cumberland

along the C&O Canal towpath near Canal Place Lost listing Posted 3 days ago

Description

Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m., while walking the C&O Canal towpath near Canal Place in Cumberland, I realized my two paintings were gone from the crate where I’d left them. They’re large oil landscapes—one shows a misty mountain stream, the other a sunlit meadow under a blue sky—with heavy gilded frames and a few scratches along the edges. The backs are stamped with my initials and a small gallery number, and they’re heirlooms from my grandmother. I’m devastated to lose them; they carry memories of family dinners and summer vacations, and I hope they turn up where a passerby will recognize their significance.
