FOUND: Xylophones near Jackson Square, New Orleans
At 4:15 PM on Friday, I was walking from the French Market toward Jackson Square in the French Quarter when I spotted a wooden case tucked behind a bench by the railing. A bright set of xylophones peered out, their mallets tucked inside the lid. It looked like someone had been busking and had to hurry off into the bustle of Royal Street. My heart gave a little jump—these instruments carry so many memories for musicians here. I carried the case toward the nearest shop window and hoped the owner would find it through this post.
Lost violins near Jackson Square, French Quarter
Isabelle Dupont here. I lost a pair of violins in a black hard-shell case with a red shoulder strap around 7:25 p.m. Friday, near Jackson Square in the French Quarter. I had just finished a small set outside Preservation Hall when I checked the street and the case was gone. The inside holds two bows. The violins mean a lot to me; they’re how I feed my life and creative work in New Orleans. I’m hoping someone saw them and kept them safe until the site can help reunite us.
Lost synthesizers in New Orleans, Louisiana, Bourbon Street
Last Friday, around 11:15 PM, I was packing up after a late set on Bourbon Street near Preservation Hall when I realized my two portable synthesizers weren't where I left them. They were in a black gig bag with stickers, one a rare vintage modular and the other a compact analog unit. I always carry them when I tour New Orleans for the gigs, and losing them feels like losing a part of my sound. If someone picked them up, or if they were turned in somewhere, please drop a note on the site so I can retrace the footsteps of the night.
Lost sheet music in the French Quarter
Lost sheet music from my brass ensemble. I was rehearsing with friends on a humid Friday evening, about 6:15 p.m., near the French Market along the riverfront in New Orleans. I set the binder on a bench by a beignet vendor and stepped away for a moment to grab a quick drink. When I got back, the pages, with my name on the cover, were gone, and the crowd had already swallowed the street in music and chatter. It is a personal collection I have spent weeks on, and I hope someone found it and kept it safe until I can be reunited with it.
Lost silver saxophone with unique etchings left at a bar in the French Quarter.
I accidentally left my silver saxophone at a bar while enjoying live jazz in the French Quarter last night. It has some unique etchings on it, and inside the case, I had my name and phone number written. If anyone finds it, I would greatly appreciate a call!
Lost silver alto saxophone in a blue hard case with stickers at The Spotted Cat Music Club on Frenchmen Street.
I accidentally left my silver alto saxophone at The Spotted Cat Music Club on Frenchmen Street last night after a gig. I remember packing my other gear, but somehow the sax got left behind. It's in a blue hard case with some stickers on it. I really hope someone returns it soon, as it's pretty important to me.
Found vintage silver harmonica with engravings in City Park, New Orleans.
I found a vintage harmonica while walking my dog in City Park, New Orleans. It’s a silver color with some beautiful engravings on the body, and looks like it has been used a lot. If you think it’s yours, please let me know. I’d love to return it to its rightful owner!
