Found sports equipment in Monroe, MI
I was walking my dog near the Monroe Public Library steps around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday when a tote and several gear bags tucked beneath a bench came into view. Inside were equipment for various sports: a scuffed soccer ball, a pair of worn tennis rackets, a bright volleyball, and a gym bag stamped with a school logo. It looked like something a youth team would carry after practice at Sterling State Park, and my heart sank thinking someone would be missing it. I left the gear by the library entrance, hoping the rightful owner would recognize it and claim it soon.
Lost paintings along River Raisin, Monroe
I lost two of my landscape paintings last Saturday around 5:15 p.m. while setting up a small easel beside the River Raisin Trail near Monroe City Park. They’re on stretched canvas, about 24x36 inches each, one showing a golden sunset over cornfields and the other a moody cityscape with purple dusk. I had them secured in a wooden portfolio, but it must have slipped from my grip as I wandered to the riverbank to photograph the scenery. These pieces mean a lot to me after months of painting and I’m hoping a kind stranger who found them left them somewhere safe.
Lost stamps near Monroe courthouse, Saturday evening.
I was walking back to my car after a visit to the Monroe Farmers Market when I realized my old stamp collection was gone. It was around 7:15 PM on Saturday, and I hadn’t noticed it missing until I reached East Front Street near the Monroe County Courthouse. The stamps are in a small red tin, a gift from my grandfather, with a few rare issues from the 1920s and 1930s. I’m sick with worry and hopeful someone picked them up and kept them safe, because those stamps carry stories I can’t replace.
Blue LEGO Duplo bricks in yellow tub
I lost my blue LEGO Duplo bricks in a yellow storage tub yesterday around 3pm near the Monroe Public Library on Main Street, by the fountain. The tub is small but sturdy, with a clear lid, and there are mostly blue bricks with a few red pieces, plus one blue 2x2 brick that has a tiny star sticker. It was my son's favorite toy and has sentimental value because it was a gift from his grandma. If anyone found it, I’d really appreciate getting it back so we can finish his weekend building project.
