lost kittens near SteelStacks, Bethlehem
Today, around 4:15 p.m., I realized my two kittens were missing while I was at the SteelStacks plaza in Bethlehem. They’re tiny, about eight weeks old, gray with white paws, and one has a small black patch on its head. I live in Allentown, and the thought of them mewling in the cool evening makes my stomach knot. They were last seen near the outdoor stage by the fountain, darting after a fluttering leaf, and my heart is aching with worry.

It was around 6:15 p.m. on Friday when I was walking past the Allentown Public Library on Hamilton Street and heard faint squeaks from behind a bench. A small blue carrier sat there, and inside I found two hamsters peering out—one golden with white patches, the other gray with a stripe along the back. The cage was light, with a water bottle dangling and scattered sunflower seeds. It felt like someone’s pets had slipped away, and I could almost hear a panicked voice calling for them. I’m hoping to reconnect them with their people soon.

I found a small blue-green parakeet this afternoon around 3:45 pm outside the Allentown Public Library on N. 5th Street. It’s a bright little bird with yellow on the throat, blue tail feathers, and a silver leg band engraved with the number 2743. The bird seemed healthy and curious, letting me approach a bit before hopping back to the railing.
