Lost pet — how to find them fast

A fast, practical plan for finding a lost pet, plus the shelters and microchip registries to contact.

When a pet goes missing in Lehigh Valley, speed and visibility are everything. Most lost pets are found close to home within the first day.

  1. Search the immediate area. Check nearby gardens, sheds, and quiet spots. Bring treats and a familiar item, and call calmly.
  2. Alert the microchip registry. Flag your pet as missing with the microchip database so your details are current if they're scanned.
  3. Call local shelters and vets. Phone shelters, pounds, and veterinary practices around Lehigh Valley and ask them to note your pet's description.
  4. Post online and on lost-pet databases. Share clear photos in local community groups and lost-pet services.
  5. Put up visible notices. A simple poster with a photo, the area, and a contact number still works.
  6. Post a listing. Add a lost-pet listing for Lehigh Valley so found-pet reports nearby surface alongside yours.

lost kittens near SteelStacks, Bethlehem

Today, around 4:15 p.m., I realized my two kittens were missing while I was at the SteelStacks plaza in Bethlehem. They’re tiny, about eight weeks old, gray with white paws, and one has a small black patch on its head. I live in Allentown, and the thought of them mewling in the cool evening makes my stomach knot. They were last seen near the outdoor stage by the fountain, darting after a fluttering leaf, and my heart is aching with worry.

Neon pink dog harness with gray trim

I lost my neon pink Rabbitgoo adjustable dog harness, size M, yesterday around 3pm near Cedar Beach Park in Allentown, Lehigh Valley. It’s bright pink nylon with reflective gray trim and a sturdy black quick-release buckle. There’s a tiny paw-print charm hanging from the buckle, and the interior label reads “Nova” and “M.” A small blue paint smear on the chest strap came from a park session last week. This harness has sentimental value because we’ve used it since adopting Nova, and I really need it back so he stays comfy on walks. If anyone finds it, please reach out—I’d be forever grateful.
