Lost sculptures near Old Capitol, Iowa City
I was putting the finishing touches on a small sculpture display outside the Old Capitol in downtown Iowa City around 9:15 this morning when I discovered two pieces were missing from my crate. I walked along the Pedestrian Mall and checked the nearby shops, but I couldn’t find them. The sculptures are about 10 inches tall, one carved with a curled sheep motif and the other a smooth abstract form, both bearing my initials. It would mean the world to have them back—those pieces hold years of work and a piece of my heart.
Red leather coin album with mixed era coins
I found a red leather coin album this afternoon around 3:15pm behind the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp in downtown Iowa City. The pages are filled with coins from the 1800s to mid-1900s, some with a warm patina. One page has a tiny pencil note saying 'Nov 1927' and a stamp-like coin with a faint mint mark; the album cover has a small scuff but the whole thing seems well-kept. It looks like someone spent a lot of time curating it, and I can tell it has sentimental value. If you’re missing this or know who it belongs to, I’d like to help return it.
Vintage Star Wars Boba Fett figure in blister packaging
I found a vintage Star Wars action figure this afternoon around 3:15 pm behind Java House on College Street in downtown Iowa City. It's a Kenner Boba Fett figure from the early 80s, still in its original blister packaging. The card is slightly warped with a small tear at the top, and there's a blue price sticker on the back. The colors pop—green armor, red jetpack, and that unmistakable Fett helmet—totally brings back memories.
