Lost postcards in downtown Iowa City
I spent Saturday afternoon at the Iowa City Farmers Market, scribbling notes on a stack of postcards to mail to family abroad. Around 4:15 p.m., I set the pile down on a bench near the Old Capitol, then wandered to check out a vendor's stalls. When I looked back, the postcards were gone. Some show the Iowa River from Court Street; others capture our group in front of the campus bookstore. They carry memories from trips and a few kind words I meant to send. If someone found them, I’d be grateful to get them back.
Lost DVDs in Iowa City
Saturday at about 1:30 pm, I realized my DVDs were missing after I left the Iowa City Public Library and walked toward the Pedestrian Mall near the Pentacrest. I had tucked them in a red tote while chatting with friends on the Library Lawn, and I must have dropped them somewhere along the sidewalk. They’re a handful of sci-fi titles in a red case, nothing flashy but they matter to me. I’m hoping someone honest picked them up and that the campus lost-and-found or the library will get them back to me.
Found paperback: The Midnight Library with teal cover
I found a paperback copy of The Midnight Library this afternoon around 3:15 pm, lying on the sidewalk in front of the Iowa City Public Library's College Street entrance, near the bike racks. It's a mass-market edition with a teal cover, slightly worn corners, and a small coffee stain along the back edge. There's a blue ribbon bookmark sticking out between pages around 120-125, and the pages show a bit of dog-eared wear. It seems well-loved but not damaged; I think it must mean something to the person who owns it. If this rings a bell for you, I'd really like to help get it back to you.
