Lost brooches in downtown Hickory
Last Saturday around 4:15 p.m., I was strolling along Main Street in downtown Hickory when my brooches slipped from my sweater and vanished somewhere near the courthouse. They’re small but meaningful—one is a crescent moon set with pale blue stones, the other a delicate flower pin I’ve worn for years, gifts that remind me of my grandmother. The bustle of shoppers felt like a wind I couldn’t fight, and I’ve been worried ever since. I’m hoping someone found them and tucked them away somewhere safe.

It's a slim 4mm band with a tiny blue sapphire and a delicate vine engraving along the inner edge; the ring has seen a lot of daily wear and the finish is a touch scuffed. Inside is engraved with the initials 'M.G.' and the ring was a gift from my grandmother, so it means a lot to me. If anyone found it, I’d be incredibly grateful to get it back—it's truly sentimental and I really need to wear it again.
