Lost: black leather work cases
I realized at 6:10 p.m. on Friday that my two black leather work cases were missing from the loading dock behind the Columbia Museum of Art. I retraced my steps down Main Street toward the State House grounds, checking the benches and the fountain on Gervais Street. The cases hold confidential files and my laptop charger, which makes me anxious. I am hoping a kind passerby picked them up and handed them in, because I need them for a big client presentation next week.
Lost photographs near USC campus, Columbia, South Carolina.
Hi, I am Grace Nguyen. I realized at 3:45 p.m. last Saturday that a tote with a bundle of photographs disappeared near the steps of the South Carolina State House on Gervais Street in Columbia. The photos are a mix of childhood portraits and recent trip snapshots, kept in a light-blue folder with a red sticker. These pictures are priceless to me because they document generations and memories I can't replace. If you found them, please keep them safe and return them through this site; I would be deeply grateful.
Lost sports equipment in Columbia, SC
I lost my Equipment for Various Sports on Friday night. At 7:20 p.m., I realized the bag wasn’t in my hands after leaving the area outside the South Carolina State House by Five Points in Columbia. Inside I kept a tennis racket, a basketball, a couple of workout gloves, and a pair of running shoes—the gear I use for after-work practice and weekend leagues. This is stressing me out because my schedule depends on that gear, and I’m hoping someone picked it up and kept it safe near the State House gates or nearby.
Lost felines near USC Horseshoe, Columbia
I lost my cats tonight in Columbia around 9:15 PM after walking from Five Points toward the USC Horseshoe. Two cats, Willow and Pepper, disappeared and I’ve been calling their names and retracing steps, but I can’t find them. Willow is a gray tabby with a white chest; Pepper is a calico with an orange patch. They’re wary of strangers, so I’m worried they might slip into a shed or under a porch somewhere nearby. If anyone spots them, please let the site know.
Lost toy train in downtown Columbia
I was cleaning up after dinner around 7:15 PM and my blue model train disappeared from the shelf in my apartment on Laurel Street. I must have left it in the hallway while I tidied up before guests arrived. I walked the living room and even checked the sidewalks near Main Street by the Columbia Museum of Art around 9 PM, but it didn’t turn up. The train is about six inches long, with a blue body and a red coal car, a gift from my grandfather that carries a lot of memory. I’d be grateful if someone found it and kept it safe.
Found brooches near State House
I was out for a walk along Gervais Street this afternoon, around 2:30 PM, and I found a cluster of brooches tucked under a bench on the steps of the South Carolina State House. The pieces are silver-toned with small colored stones and floral enamel, spread across several pins. I’ve left them where I found them on the bench with a note, hoping the owner will recognize them and claim them. I know how special some of these pieces can be, and it felt right to try and reunite them with their owner.
Found: Driver's License in Columbia
I found a driver's license on the sidewalk in front of the Columbia Museum of Art around 2:30 PM today. The license bears a photo and name, and I picked it up to help reunite it with the owner. I’m posting here because I know how anxious you can feel when something like this is missing. The moment was quiet and sunny on Main Street, near the museum, and I kept the item safe until this page could help.
Found organizers near State House on Gervais Street
I found a bundle of plastic organizers near the State House on Gervais Street in Columbia around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. They are the kind you use for office or craft storage, with several clear bins and labeled dividers, all a bit dusty from sun and wind. There is no name on them, but they look cared for and ready to be put back to use. If these belong to someone, I am glad to help bring them back to their rightful owner.
Found holiday decorations near the State House
I was taking a sunset stroll along Gervais Street near the State House around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday when a dusty cardboard box rolled out of a storefront display and caught my eye. The box labeled Holiday Decorations held garlands, a tinsel strand, and a bright red bow that had escaped its packaging. It looked like someone hurried away in the chilly air, possibly during a quick errand. I picked up the box and posted here because I know how much those ornaments can mean to a family during the holidays.
Leopard-print umbrella with wooden handle
I lost my leopard-print travel umbrella—it's a collapsible one with a dark wooden curved handle. I think I had it yesterday around 3pm near the Starbucks on Broadway in downtown Columbia. The outside is leopard-print fabric, and the inside lining is navy. There’s a small coffee ring stain on the inside near the fabric and a green silicone tag on the wrist strap with the initials KH. It meant a lot to me; it was a gift from my grandmother, and I really need it back before the rainy forecast hits.
Found navy knit scarf with initials AP near library
I found a navy knit scarf this afternoon around 4:15pm outside the Columbia Public Library on Broadway. It's a thick wool blend, about 60 inches long, with a small silver thread woven through it and a neat embroidered 'AP' initials in the lower corner. The tag inside reads 'Meraki,' and the scarf is in good condition with just a bit of pilling from wear. It clearly looks like a favorite that someone would miss, and I turned it in at the library's Lost and Found to help the owner get it back.
1TB Samsung T7 SSD with dragon sticker
I found a silver 1TB Samsung T7 portable SSD this morning around 9:15am. It has a small green dragon sticker on the top-left corner and a light coffee stain near the label, plus a matte finish that catches the light just right. I found it in the parking lot behind The District on Broadway in downtown Columbia, right by the campus shuttle stop. This is clearly a digital media drive—likely holding a video project or personal footage—and I’d love to get it back to the owner. If this sounds like your drive, send me a message and we’ll figure out a pickup.
Blue Columbia rain jacket, size M
I found this blue Columbia rain jacket this morning around 9:15am behind the Columbia Mall on Forum Boulevard, near the Regal Cinemas. It's a men's size M, cobalt blue, in good shape with light wear along the cuffs and a small orange zipper pull that makes it easy to spot. Inside there's a tiny heart-shaped patch stitched on the left chest pocket and a hidden inner pocket that still smells faintly of soap. Jacket looks recently worn but clean, no torn seams. If someone is missing it, I’d like to help get it back to its owner.

Gold-tone hoop earrings with turquoise stones
I lost my gold-tone hoop earrings with turquoise stones yesterday around 3pm near The District on Broadway in downtown Columbia. They’re small-to-medium hoops, about 1 inch in diameter, with three turquoise stones along the front. One clasp has a tiny heart engraving on the back, and the finish is a bit worn. They’re from a local boutique Luna & Co., and they were a gift from my sister—really sentimental to me. I’m hoping someone picked them up by accident; I’d be forever grateful to get them back. If you found them, a DM would be amazing.
