Lost: Equipment for Various Sports in Beaumont/Port Arthur.
I was at City Park near the basketball courts around 5:30 p.m. last Friday when I realized my bag of equipment for various sports was missing. It’s a navy nylon bag with white trim, and inside I had a tennis racket, a basketball, shin guards, and a whistle. Losing it put a dent in my weekend plans for practice and pickup games with the kids. I retraced my steps through the park and the adjacent parking lot, but I didn’t find it. I’d be grateful for any information if you found a navy bag with sports gear near City Park.
Red 1980s baseball-card binder found
I found a red 9x11 vinyl binder stuffed with 1980s baseball cards this afternoon around 3:45pm in the parking lot behind Parkdale Mall on Dowlen Road, Beaumont. The binder is plain red with a clear front cover and a few worn edges; inside are hundreds of old cards in plastic sleeves, mostly Houston Astros from the late '70s and early '80s. There's a small yellow sticker on the front that reads 'Beaumont Youth League 1986' and a coffee stain along the back. tucked in the front pocket is a folded receipt from a local hobby shop and a Sharpie note that says 'Gary's Card Club'—a couple of personal touches that might help confirm ownership. I lost my collection of limited edition baseball cards during a yard sale last weekend in Beaumont. They were in a black binder and cover some of the most famous players from the 90s.
