That Tuesday around 6:15 p.m., I left behind a black duffel bag filled with equipment for various sports by College Square in downtown Waterloo. Inside are a tennis racket, a basketball, a couple of volleyball knee pads, and a yoga mat—gear I rely on for weekend leagues. I walked the square, checked the nearby coffee shop, and asked at the bus stop, but the bag was gone. I’m anxious about missing practices but hopeful someone honest picked it up and turned it in.
