Lost pet — how to find them fast

A fast, practical plan for finding a lost pet, plus the shelters and microchip registries to contact.

When a pet goes missing in St Cloud, speed and visibility are everything. Most lost pets are found close to home within the first day.

  1. Search the immediate area. Check nearby gardens, sheds, and quiet spots. Bring treats and a familiar item, and call calmly.
  2. Alert the microchip registry. Flag your pet as missing with the microchip database so your details are current if they're scanned.
  3. Call local shelters and vets. Phone shelters, pounds, and veterinary practices around St Cloud and ask them to note your pet's description.
  4. Post online and on lost-pet databases. Share clear photos in local community groups and lost-pet services.
  5. Put up visible notices. A simple poster with a photo, the area, and a contact number still works.
  6. Post a listing. Add a lost-pet listing for St Cloud so found-pet reports nearby surface alongside yours.

Beagle mix with red collar lost in St Cloud

Yesterday around 3pm I lost my beagle mix, Luna, near Riverside Park by the Mississippi River trail in St. Cloud. She's about 25 pounds, tan and white, with a red collar and a blue ID tag that says Luna. She has a small white heart-shaped patch on her chest, and her left ear flops while the right stays perked. She's friendly but a little shy around strangers, and she means the world to me after all these years. If you've seen her, please let me know—I’d really appreciate any info, especially if you spotted her near Munsinger Gardens, Riverside Park, or the library on West Saint Germain Street.

Small gray hamster in blue harness

I lost my small gray-and-white Syrian hamster yesterday around 3pm near the Public Library on West St. Germain Street in St Cloud. The little guy is about the size of a ping-pong ball, with a soft gray back, white belly, and a tiny orange dot on his left flank. He’s wearing a bright blue harness with a tiny silver bell that jingles when he runs. He tends to hide when startled, and I’m worried he slipped into the alleys behind Target on Division Street or wandered into the flower beds by Munsinger Gardens. If anyone finds him, I’d really appreciate getting him back—he’s a gift from my daughter and means a lot to our family.

I lost my little golden hamster, Nibbles, in St Cloud while taking him out for a walk in his exercise ball. He somehow got out and ran into the bushes near the playground on Riverside Drive. He's about the size of a tennis ball and has a little black nose. If you see him, please let me know!
