I lost a small set of pins from my lapel and I can't find them anywhere. It was around 6:45 PM on Tuesday as I walked past the Old State Capitol on Adams Street, heading toward the Lincoln Library, when I noticed they were gone from my gray wool coat. The pins are tiny: one brass circle with blue enamel, and a little silver pin shaped like a maple leaf. I retraced my steps from the cafe outside the capitol to the corner by the park, asking nearby shoppers if someone had seen them, but no one did. They were a gift from my grandmother and they remind me of home; Iām really hoping someone picked them up safe and can reunite them with me.

I found a gold-tone ring with a small blue sapphire this afternoon around 4:05pm near the Court Square Fountain in Springfield. It's a simple band, roughly size 6.5, with the sapphire set in a bezel and a tiny nick along the outer edge that catches the light. Inside the band there's an engraving 'MP' and a short, barely noticeable scratch from wear. I spotted it sitting on the stone ledge by the fountain and tucked it into a clean cloth pouch in my bag.
