I’m searching for a small bundle of old photographs that vanished during a walk in Yreka. At 3:15 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2024, I must have dropped them near Greenhorn Park along the Yreka Creek trail. The set includes a faded portrait of my grandmother in a polka-dot dress and a color print from a family picnic on Main Street. Those pictures carry stories of people I wish I could ask about one more time, and I feel a hollow ache without them.
Last Friday around 11:30 AM, I was hiking along the Scott River Trailhead near Fort Jones and realized my memory cards were lost from my camera bag. The trail winds past basalt cliffs and pine, and the river glittered under a clear sky as I snapped a few shots. I must have set the little black case down while I checked a map, and now I can't remember where. They hold two SD cards, one labeled Trip 04 and the other with wedding photos, the only copies I have from a special trip. I’m hoping someone picked them up and held onto them for me.
At 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, I was wrapping up a neighborhood potluck at the Siskiyou County Community Center in downtown Yreka when I realized my utensil set—two forks, a spoon, and a wooden spatula—was missing from my tote. I likely dropped them while chatting near the farmers market tents along Oregon Street. Those utensils belonged to my grandmother; she taught me to cook, and they remind me of Sundays at her kitchen table. I’m hoping someone honest picked them up and kept an eye out for initials on the handles.
Hi, I'm Jordan Rivera. I was hiking near Mount Shasta City Park on the evening of Friday and stopped for a quick break around 6:15 PM, when I realized my handheld game console and a spare controller were missing from my backpack. I retraced the path to the Mount Shasta City Park gazebo but couldn't find them. The console meant a lot to me for both work and personal games, and the data in it isn't easily replaceable. I'm feeling frustrated and hopeful that someone nearby found them and kept them safe until I could come back for them.
Last Saturday around 5:30 p.m., I was hiking the Castle Crags State Park area in Siskiyou County when I took off my brown leather belt to adjust my pack. I set it on a rock near the trail junction while I tied my hiking boots, and when I stood up a moment later, it was gone. The belt is brown leather with a brass buckle and a small scratch near the buckle, a simple item but full of memories from a family trip. If you found it, I’d be forever grateful.
Found a red snare drum this afternoon around 4:15pm behind the public library on Main Street, downtown Yreka. It's a 14-inch snare with a bright red satin finish and chrome hardware. The shell has a couple of light scratches and a small dent on the rim from a hard practice hit. A sticker on the shell with the initials 'JR' is visible, and the drumhead has some stick marks. It seems recently used but cared for. If someone in Siskiyou County is missing it, I’d love to help get it back to you—musical gear like this matters a lot to players.
