FOUND xylophones near Canal Walk, Richmond
I was loading up gear after a community rehearsal at the Richmond Music School around 5:30 p.m. when I spotted two xylophones leaning against a bench near the Canal Walk along Virginia Street. They looked recently used, with a few stickers peeled off and a bright blue strap looped around one frame. It felt odd to find something so bulky on the curb, but the look of relief on the instrument cases told me they were someone’s pride and joy. I’m glad to help by posting this in case the owner is searching the neighborhood for them.
Lost: Sheet music near Richmond Main Library.
I was rushing to a rehearsal around 6:30 p.m. Thursday outside the Richmond Main Library on East Franklin Street. My folder with sheet music for a recital slipped from my bag during a crowded moment, and I didn’t notice until I was already on the bus home. There are pieces I’ve practiced for months, including a fragile handwritten annotation from my late teacher, and I’m anxious about where it ended up. The music is important to me beyond the notes—it feels like a thread to my routine and to the people who shaped it. If you found anything lying near the library steps or along E Franklin Street, I’d be grateful for any help.
Gold trumpet with engraving, lost near Cary Street
I was practicing outside a cafe on Grace Street near Cary Street in the Fan District yesterday around 3pm when I realized my gold lacquer Bb trumpet wasn’t in my hands anymore. It’s a standard brass trumpet with a small dent on the bell and initials 'A.P.' engraved near the valve casing. The case is a dark blue hard-shell with a red plush interior and a frayed black shoulder strap tucked inside. This instrument means a lot to me because it was my grandfather’s, and I played it at his funeral; I really need it back for my upcoming recital. If you found it, please email me at [email protected] and we can meet near VMFA or Monroe Park to pick it up.
Lost silver piccolo flute with initials engraved and scratches, lost near a park bench in Richmond.
I lost my silver flute while walking in the park near Richmond last Saturday. I believe it may have fallen out of my bag while I was taking a break on a bench. It's a piccolo flute with a few scratches on the side and has my initials engraved on the back.
