On Friday at 5:45 PM, I was at Providence Place Mall in Providence, Rhode Island. I left my shopping bags next to the entrance by the carousel while I paid for a coffee. When I looked back, they were gone. Inside were my grocery haul, a sturdy reusable tote, and a small gift I’d planned to wrap tonight. I retraced through the mall, checked the escalators, the food court, and the front desk area near Kennedy Plaza, but nothing turned up. My heart sank, and I’m trying not to panic.
