I lost my coins this evening. They’re a small, battered copper pouch that belonged to my grandmother, a token of Sundays spent around the kitchen table. I was at the Irvine Spectrum Center outside the Rotunda around 7:45 PM on Saturday, walking from the parking structure toward the outdoor fountains when I realized the pouch was gone. I retraced the escalators, the valet circle, and the main entrances, but the crowd moved me along and the memory slipped away with the rush of people.
