I was sorting through a small pile of stamps at 6:15 p.m. on Friday outside the Publix on Beal Parkway in Fort Walton Beach when I realized a tiny leather binder from my late grandfather's collection had slipped from my bag. The stamps are delicate, some with faded ink and faint colors, and they mean a lot to me. I felt a hollow ache thinking of the stories they carry as the streetlights flicker above the palm trees.
