Lost pet — how to find them fast

A fast, practical plan for finding a lost pet, plus the shelters and microchip registries to contact.

When a pet goes missing in Myrtle Beach, speed and visibility are everything. Most lost pets are found close to home within the first day.

  1. Search the immediate area. Check nearby gardens, sheds, and quiet spots. Bring treats and a familiar item, and call calmly.
  2. Alert the microchip registry. Flag your pet as missing with the microchip database so your details are current if they're scanned.
  3. Call local shelters and vets. Phone shelters, pounds, and veterinary practices around Myrtle Beach and ask them to note your pet's description.
  4. Post online and on lost-pet databases. Share clear photos in local community groups and lost-pet services.
  5. Put up visible notices. A simple poster with a photo, the area, and a contact number still works.
  6. Post a listing. Add a lost-pet listing for Myrtle Beach so found-pet reports nearby surface alongside yours.

Grey tabby Milo with pink collar near Broadway

Lost my grey tabby Milo yesterday around 3pm. He's about 9 pounds, short-haired, with a bright pink collar, a tiny notch in his left ear, and a small white chest patch. Milo is microchipped and usually friendly, but can be skittish with strangers; I was at the Boardwalk area near the SkyWheel and Ocean Boulevard when he bolted. I'm in Myrtle Beach and really hoping he finds his way home—he means a lot to me and my family.

Beige leopard gecko with blue tail.

I lost my beige leopard gecko yesterday around 3pm near the Boardwalk on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach. It's a tiny, 6-inch reptile with a vivid blue tail and a small dark spot behind the left front leg. He also has a faint scar above his left eye from a shed—that's the best way to spot him if someone picks him up. This little guy is part of our family and has sentimental value; I've had him since last summer, and I really need him back. If you found him, please drop me a text or DM; I can meet somewhere nearby.

Blue budgie with yellow belly, red leg band MB-12

I lost my blue budgie yesterday around 3pm near the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, along Ocean Boulevard by the SkyWheel. He's a small parakeet, about 5 inches long, bright blue with a yellow belly and a white ring around his eye. He wears a tiny red leg band with the inscription MB-12. He’s friendly and chatty, usually perches on my shoulder and chirps back when I talk to him. This bird means a lot to my family—my daughter picked him out and he's been a source of comfort since we moved to Myrtle Beach. If anyone spots him, please message me in the app; I’d really appreciate bringing him home!

Lost pink medium-sized dog's harness embroidered with 'Beanie' at Myrtle Beach.

I accidentally left my dog's pink harness on the beach while playing at Myrtle Beach yesterday. It's a snug fit for a medium-sized dog and is embroidered with 'Beanie' on the back. It's practically brand new, and Beanie definitely misses it! If anyone finds it, please let me know!
