Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Monroe are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Monroe in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost remote controls in downtown Monroe

Hi, I’m Noah Bennett. I misplaced my remote controls at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday while walking along Main Street in downtown Monroe, near the River Raisin trailhead behind the old post office. I’d stopped for a quick call and must have slipped one from my jacket pocket. They’re two black remotes, one for the TV and one for the streaming box, both a bit battered from daily use. It’s a nuisance not having them, especially since movie nights are our little ritual. If you found them on Main Street or by the Monroe Bank building, please save them for me.

Lost stamps near Monroe courthouse, Saturday evening.

I was walking back to my car after a visit to the Monroe Farmers Market when I realized my old stamp collection was gone. It was around 7:15 PM on Saturday, and I hadn’t noticed it missing until I reached East Front Street near the Monroe County Courthouse. The stamps are in a small red tin, a gift from my grandfather, with a few rare issues from the 1920s and 1930s. I’m sick with worry and hopeful someone picked them up and kept them safe, because those stamps carry stories I can’t replace.

Blue Nike AquaFit swim shorts with lime piping

I lost my blue Nike AquaFit swim shorts yesterday around 5pm near Riverside Park Pool on Riverfront Ave in Monroe. They're men's size M, quick-dry fabric with bright lime-green piping along the sides and a white Nike swoosh on the left thigh. The drawstring is white and a bit frayed, and there's a small chlorine stain on the back pocket. They’re my go-to pair for practice and they feel kind of sentimental to me—I wore them every week this season, and I really need them back. If anyone found them, please DM me here; I’d be so grateful to get them back.

Oak coffee table with glass top

Hey, I lost my oak coffee table with a glass top yesterday around 3pm in Monroe. It’s a sturdy rectangular table, about 48 inches long and 22 inches wide, with a dark walnut stain and a tempered glass insert. There’s a small chip on the front-right corner and a faint scratch along the lower rail from years of use. It used to sit in front of the sofa in my living room, and I must have left it when I tidied up near the Monroe Public Library on Main Street, outside the Riverstone Cafe. This table is a hand-me-down from my grandmother, so it’s sentimental to me and I’m really hoping to get it back. If anyone found it, please send me a quick message.

Hardcover Dune edition with green cloth binding

I was at the Monroe Public Library cafe on Oak Street yesterday around 3pm, flipping through shelves, when I must have left my hardcover copy of Dune by Frank Herbert somewhere. It's a hardcover edition with a green cloth binding and a gold title on the spine, and the dust jacket is a little worn at the corners. Inside, there's a faded orange bookmark peeking out and a small map fragment from a past library display tucked between pages. This book means a lot to me—it's a gift from my grandfather—and I'm really hoping someone picked it up and can return it. If you found it, I’m reachable at [email protected]; I can describe the spine wear and the bookmark to confirm.

Missing teen: Milo Rivera in red hoodie, panda backpack

I lost my little brother, Milo Rivera, yesterday around 3pm near the Monroe Public Library on Main Street. He's 15, about 5'6", with dark curly hair and a bright red hoodie under a navy rain jacket, gray sweatpants, and white sneakers. He was carrying a green backpack with a panda patch on the front. Last I saw him, he headed toward Riverside Park after crossing at the Main Street crosswalk. I'm really worried—Milo tends to wander when he's overwhelmed, and this is out of character. He has a small star-shaped birthmark on his right hand, which could help identify him. If you spot him, please send me a message here in the app.
