Sunday around 2:45 pm, I was at La Plaza Mall in McAllen, juggling bags and a hot coffee, when I realized my Driver's License was gone from my wallet. I’d paused near the entrance by the fountain while checking a map, and when I turned back, it wasn’t there. The license has my name and date of birth; losing it today could derail a job interview tomorrow. I’m anxious and frustrated, retracing pockets and seats in my head.
