Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Lawrence are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Lawrence in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost sheet music after rehearsal at KU

I was packing up after a rehearsal at the Lied Center on Friday around 6:15 pm when my sheet music slipped from my bag and vanished near the north entrance. It’s a small blue binder, covered in pencil markings and notes from the upcoming student recital. I can picture the pages fluttering toward the stairwell by the KU Memorial Union as the doors swung shut. This music means a lot to me, and the pieces aren’t easily replaceable. If found, I’ll be overjoyed.

Lost drones near Mass St, downtown Lawrence

I was filming a quick clip along Massachusetts Street near the Granada Theater when a gust knocked my two drones from my bag. It was around 6:40 PM last Friday, and they drifted toward the river before I could reach them. One drone has a red propeller guard; the other has a gray body with a cracked camera cover. Losing them hit hard because they’re essential for work and hobby shots. I’m hoping someone nearby picked them up and will reach out through the site if they were found.

Lost saxophones near Mass St, Lawrence.

On Tuesday at 8:15 PM, I was loading my saxophones back into the trunk outside the Granada Theater on Mass Street in Lawrence, Kansas, after rehearsal. I lost my saxophones when I shut the trunk. The streetlights glowed on the brick storefronts, and the case felt lighter. They are two alto saxes, one with a dented bell and a blue strap; they are my livelihood and my passion. I walked the blocks toward the KU campus, checking doorways and the alley behind Liberty Hall, hoping they had not vanished for good. If someone turned them in, I would be grateful to have them back.

Lost suits on Mass St near Granada Theater.

Last Friday around 9:00 p.m., I realized my suits were missing after leaving a coffee shop on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence. There's a good chance they slipped from my bag while I was talking to a friend outside the Granada Theater. I've checked the nearby bus stop, the Lincoln Park area, and the campus quad, but no sign of them yet. I hope someone who picked them up sees this post and can help reunite them with me.

LOST: utensils near Mass St, Lawrence

Hi, I’m Maya Patel. I realized I lost a small set of utensils—my wooden spoon and a couple of forks—around 12:45 p.m. Friday near the KU campus along Jayhawk Boulevard, on the Mass Street side of downtown Lawrence. They were tucked in a beige tote, and I must have set it down on a bench after grabbing a quick lunch. Those utensils were a gift from my grandmother, so they carry a lot of sentimental weight. If you found them, I’d be grateful to hear any information.

LOST: Document holders on Mass Street

I was wrapping up a quick meeting near the Free State Brewing Company on Massachusetts Street at about 3:40 pm on Friday when I realized two black document holders were missing from my tote. They’re a simple pair: black leather, one with a blue ribbon bookmark, the other with a small initials sticker 'EM' on the front. I left them on the wooden bench outside the coffee shop by the corner of 12th Street and Mass, and when I returned they were gone. These folders contain client notes and travel itineraries; I’m anxious about what’s inside and how long they’ll be missing. If you’ve seen them around downtown Lawrence, please leave a note here.
