Hi, I’m Mason Reed. Tonight, around 8:10 pm, I found a pair of hoops on the sidewalk outside the Soldotna Safeway, under the parking-lot light in Soldotna on the Kenai Peninsula. They looked simple and well-loved, with a tiny charm that suggests they’re worn often. I figured they probably belong to someone, so I tucked them away in a safe spot to keep them from getting stepped on and to reach the owner here. If these hoops are yours, you’ll know them by the small charm and the wear on the gold tone. I hope they find their way home.

found power tools near Pratt Museum, Homer

I was walking along Sterling Street toward the harbor in Homer when I found a toolbox and a cordless drill sitting unattended outside the Pratt Museum around 2:15 PM last Sunday. The tools look well-used but functional, with a few stickers peeling off and no obvious owner name. I’ve kept them safe and dry since then, hoping the rightful owner will see this post and reclaim them through the site. Red puffer jacket with black cuffs, found near Walmart

I found a red puffer jacket yesterday around 3:15pm in the Walmart parking lot on the Sterling Highway in Soldotna, here in the Kenai Peninsula. It’s a The North Face red puffer, size L, with black knit cuffs and a gray fleece lining. There’s a small white scratch on the left sleeve and a chest pocket with a slightly stiff zipper. Inside, a tiny embroidered initials MP on the hem is a neat identifying feature. It looks well-loved but in overall good condition. If the owner is out there, I hope you see this and can pick it up; I’d be happy to help get it back to you.

Found brass compass with leather cord

I found a small brass compass with a worn leather cord this afternoon around 3:40 pm behind the Safeway on Sterling Highway in Soldotna, in the Kenai Peninsula. It's about the size of a quarter, with a slightly cracked lid and a tiny engraving 'M' on the back. There's a frayed blue cord wrapped around it and a faint smell of old oil from years of use. I know how much a keepsake like this can mean to someone who spends time on the water, so I wanted to post it here in case the owner spots it and can claim it.

Blue fishing rod and reel found near Safeway

I found this blue and black 6'6\" Lew's fishing rod with a silver reel yesterday around 3pm in the parking lot behind the Safeway on Binkley Street in Soldotna, Kenai Peninsula. It has a bright red tip wrap, a small yellow duck decal near the handle, and a sticker with the initials 'KB' on the rod sleeve, plus a dent in the reel seat. The line is braided and a bit tangled, and there’s light wear along the rod from travel. I’m hoping to reunite it with its owner—fishing gear like this means a lot to people, and I’d feel really glad to help out.

Brass pocket watch with ship engraving

Found a brass pocket watch this afternoon around 2:45pm in the parking lot behind the Safeway on the Sterling Highway in Soldotna, Kenai Peninsula. It's about 2 inches across, with a warm brass patina and a small leather fob attached to a short tarnished chain. The back has a decorative ship wheel engraving and the inner lid bears an inscription: 'To M.L. from Dad 1968.' The glass on the face is cracked and the hands are stuck, so I can't tell if it still runs. It feels like a genuine antique collectible, possibly a family keepsake.
