I was tidying up the garage near Westport when I spotted a metal toolbox tucked behind a paint shelf. Around 4:30 pm Friday, I found it by Union Station in Kansas City, with a handful of hand tools spilled onto the concrete. Inside was a claw hammer, a yellow tape measure, and several screwdrivers with red handles, a bit dusty and well-used. It looked like someone had hurried off and left them behind. I lost my glass-top coffee table with brass frame yesterday around 3pm near the Nelson-Atkins Museum's Oak Street entrance in Kansas City. It's a mid-century style piece, about 40 inches long, with a clear tempered glass top that has a beveled edge and a brass frame that shows a little patina but is sturdy. There's a small scratch along the top edge and a faint KC initials etched near the bottom of one leg, which makes it easy to spot. It really matters to me—it's the centerpiece of our living room and was a gift from my grandmother, so I’d be grateful to get it back.
