Lost power tools near Court Square, Harrisonburg

At 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, I realized I had lost my power tools in the shed behind my apartment on South Main Street. The rain had started and Court Square was slick under the streetlights, and I remember turning back toward the shed and seeing only the empty pegboard where my drill and circular saw used to hang. The tools are a red Dewalt drill, a black framing hammer, and a weathered tool bag I’ve had since college. I’ve spent weekends remodeling the porch, and each tool has a memory tied to it.
