I was at the City Island basketball courts in Harrisburg around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday when I realized I’d left my Equipment for Various Sports on the bench. It’s a blue backpack with a white logo, and inside you’ll find shin guards, a cleat bag, a dusty basketball, and a spare tennis racket with a frayed grip. My stomach dropped as I walked the neon-lit path back toward the river, hoping the item hadn’t vanished into the crowd.
