Lost belts near The Strand, Galveston
I’m Sofia Bennett. I lost two belts last night. I was walking the Strand around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday after grabbing a coffee near 25th Street when a gust of wind and a crowd pushed me toward the ferry landing, and I must have dropped them. One is tan brown leather with a brass buckle and a tiny initials engraving 'LB' on the inside. The other is a black fabric belt with a silver buckle and a faded red stripe along the edge. Both fit my style and my job; I’m hoping they’re somewhere safe and not far from the seawall. The memory of them lingers as I think about packing for work tomorrow.
Found sandals along Galveston Seawall
I found these sandals this afternoon around 4:15 PM along the Seawall near the Strand in Galveston. They're brown leather flip-flops with a bright turquoise strap and a few nicks on the soles from beach sand. I tucked them under a bench by the old lighthouse overlook so they wouldn't blow away in the Gulf breeze. I know how it feels to misplace something you've worn all summer, and I hope the owner sees this and realizes they're not far away.

I lost my navy two-piece suits after leaving a show at the Grand Opera House around 7:15 PM Friday. I wandered The Strand between 25th Street and the harbor, asking shopkeepers if anyone had seen a stray garment. I’d been at Stewart Beach near the Seawall Boulevard entrance, by lifeguard tower 2, and they must have slipped off my bag while I was rinsing the sand. They’re a size medium, navy with bright orange piping down the sides, and a white Nike swoosh on the left leg. There’s a small salt stain on the front and a tiny snag on the hem, plus a red drawstring pouch I stitched into the inner waistband last summer for my keys. They’re my go-to practice shorts and I’d really appreciate getting them back.
