Lost Equipment for Various Sports in Danville
I was finishing up a run at Ballou Park in Danville last Tuesday around 6:10 p.m. when I realized my equipment for various sports had vanished from the bench by the basketball courts. It was a mixed lot—shin guards, a pair of well-worn sneakers, a rolled-up yoga mat, and a few other odds and ends I rely on for workouts. I retraced my steps along the path and checked with other runners, hoping someone had simply picked it up for me, but nothing turned up. This equipment means a lot to me, and I’d be grateful to have it back before the next practice.
Found sculptures in downtown Danville, VA
On a chilly morning around 7:45 a.m. today, I spotted a cluster of sculptures tucked behind a bench at Riverside Park, along the Dan River. They’re four abstract pieces, some wood and plaster, painted in muted blues and greens, and they look recently handled. I picked them up and brought them to the front desk at the Danville Community Center, hoping the owner might recognize them or the unique patina. It felt like finding a small island in the river of everyday life— a mix of surprise, responsibility, and relief that someone’s art could be returned.
Lost dolls in Danville, Virginia, near Dan Daniel Memorial Park
I lost my dolls while walking home from a friend's house yesterday at around 5:40 PM. I had tucked them in a pink tote as I headed down Main Street toward Dan Daniel Memorial Park. By the time I reached the riverfront, the tote was lighter, and I realized the dolls were missing—two small porcelain dolls with chipped cheeks and frilly dresses. They were gifts from my grandmother and hold a lot of memory for my little sister, who starts third grade tomorrow and already misses them. If you found them, please drop a note on the site; I’ll be checking as soon as I can.
Vintage 1960s vinyl records collection – Beatles-era
I lost my small box of vintage vinyl records yesterday around 3pm near the Danville Central Plaza fountain behind the old bank on Main Street. The box is a black vinyl binder with a blue denim cover and about 15 LPs inside; sleeves show wear and the Beatles gatefold has a faded red Capitol label. One standout: a mint 1964 Beatles album with a handwritten dedication on the inner sleeve. It also has a tiny circular sticker from Reno's Record Shop on the spine. It has sentimental value - my dad got me the collection when I started collecting in high school - and I'd really appreciate getting it back.
