Friday at 7:20 pm, I realized my travel visas weren’t in the little brown sleeve in my backpack anymore. I’d just treated myself to a coffee by the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay in Corpus Christi and was walking toward the hotel lobby when they vanished. The folder held my full name, birth info, and the stamps I need for border checks, and losing them tonight has me spinning. I’m torn between relief at having them somewhere and dread at how I’ll replace them if someone else ends up with them.
