On Tuesday around 7:45 PM, I left two terrariums on the windowsill by the Portales Dairy Queen on Main Street after unloading groceries. The glass containers hold small succulents, white stones, and a tiny blue ribbon on one. I must have bumped the shelf and they vanished when I turned back. They’re special to me—my little desk garden that kept me calm through the move from Clovis. I’m anxious about losing them, and I keep replaying the last moment I saw them. If anyone found them, please leave a note on the site so I can bring them home.
I lost my two black carry-ons in the Portales Walmart parking lot around 8:15 AM. One bag has a red travel tag with my initials AS on the zipper and a small dent on the corner. The other is slightly larger with a scuffed handle. I was in the Clovis-Portales area visiting family and grabbed coffee in the store before heading to the airport, and I must have left them in the cart or trunk. I am anxious about the documents inside and hopeful someone found them and turned them in.
I was strolling from Portales City Park toward downtown Portales around 6:30 p.m. last Friday when a breeze tugged at my tote and the Wall Art slipped away. It’s a desert sunset canvas in a black frame—the colors bright oranges and purples, a reminder of home. It matters to me because it was a gift from my aunt, and the canvas always brings back her stories. I’ve checked the sidewalks and the parking lot near the theatre, but I haven’t found it yet. If you found it, please keep it safe.
Today around 2:30 PM, I found a pair of pendants on Portales Main Street near the Portales Public Library, in the Clovis-Portales area of New Mexico. One pendant is a delicate silver piece with a turquoise dot; the other is a small star charm on a thin chain. They were sitting on a bench by the bookstore window, partially tucked under a flyer rack, as the NM sun warmed the sidewalk. They seemed valuable to someone and I figured they should be returned to their rightful owner.
On Monday around 6:15 PM, I found a sheet music folder lying on the sidewalk near the Portales Public Library steps. The folder is blue, weathered, with a few dog-eared pages and pencil notes scribbled in the margins. It looks like someone was preparing for a small community recital, and I can picture their anxious relief at reclaiming it. I tucked it into my jacket pocket for the short walk home, hoping the owner sees this post and can claim it soon.
I found a sheets set this morning near the Portales Walmart entrance, around 7:45 a.m. It’s a queen-sized set, pale blue with a narrow white stripe, neatly folded with a small pull on one corner. I picked it up and kept it with me while I kept an eye out for a Lost and Found notice, but I didn’t see anything posted. It seems someone might have dropped it in the morning rush, and I’d really like to see it get back to its owner.
