I was out for a late-afternoon stroll along the Clarksville Riverwalk around 4:50 p.m. today when I spotted a small cluster of brooches lying on the sidewalk beside a lamppost near the old train bridge. They looked vintage, with delicate filigree and a few colored stones that caught the light as the sun slid behind the trees. I picked them up and tucked them into my jacket pocket, hoping to reunite them with whoever lost them. They clearly mean something to someone, and I felt a little rush of protectiveness, like I had stumbled onto a small piece of someone’s story.
