On Friday around 5:45 p.m., I found a small stack of postcards on a bench outside the downtown library on Truxtun Ave in Bakersfield. They’re mostly travel-themed, photos from old trips with cheerful stamps on the backs. The handwriting looks like it came from someone who loves to scribble little notes to friends and family. I can imagine the owner checking their pockets, maybe realizing the cards had fallen out during a busy afternoon at the nearby farmers market. Found a pair of black Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones this afternoon around 4:15pm near the entrance of Valley Plaza Mall, Bakersfield. They were sitting on a bench outside the Regal Cinemas by the food court. The headphones are in good condition, no cracks, cushions gently worn, and they come with a blue fabric carrying pouch. Inside the case I noticed a small sticker with the initials 'ND' and one ear cup has a tiny dent near the outer edge. Guinea pig found near Target on Stockdale Hwy

I found a guinea pig this afternoon around 2:15pm wandering in the Target parking lot on Stockdale Highway by Ming Avenue in Bakersfield. It's a small, well-groomed guinea pig with tan fur and a white chest patch. There’s a distinctive crescent-shaped white patch on its left ear and bright dark eyes, no collar, and it seems healthy and curious. I gave it a bit of water and a carrot, and it chewed happily before curling up nearby. It clearly belongs to someone—looks like a domesticated pet, not a wild rodent. The frames are matte black, with a small silver Ray-Ban logo on the temple and a black leather case with a gray fuzzy lining. They show a tiny scratch on the right lens and the left temple feels a bit loose, but otherwise in good shape.
