Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Annapolis are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Annapolis in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost dresses near Annapolis City Dock

Hi, I’m Maya Carter. I was planning to wear my two dresses—one navy, one forest-green—in a garment bag to a rehearsal dinner in two days, but they vanished around 6:10 PM Saturday as I walked from the Annapolis Town Center toward the City Dock along Dock Street. I must have set the bag down on a bench while I checked for a cab, and now it’s gone. The glow of the City Dock lights on the water makes me hopeful that someone picked them up and will return them, but I’m anxious about getting ready in time. If you saw a garment bag near Market House on Dock Street, please help me bring them home.

Lost GPS devices in Annapolis

On Sunday I realized my GPS devices were missing from my backpack after a quick stroll along City Dock around 2:30 PM. I last used them near West Street by the ferry landing, and I can picture the blue case sitting on the bench by the railing overlooking the water. They’re essential for my upcoming field research trip and the maps I rely on every day. If you found them, please know how much they mean to me; I’d be grateful for any help.

Lost handheld and console in Annapolis

I was strolling along City Dock on West Street, Annapolis, around 9:15 PM Friday when I realized my handheld game console and my main console were no longer in my backpack. I double-checked the path along Main Street and the bridge, but the crowd sang a chorus of cicadas too loud to hear a dropped gadget. It’s more than just devices to me; the handheld is my escape after long days, and the console is how I unwind with friends. If you found them, please help me get them back.

Lost Saxophones in Annapolis, please help.

I lost my Saxophones this evening around 7:30 p.m. Friday near Annapolis City Dock along Compromise Street, just outside Market Square where I finished a short street set. The Saxophones are in a black hard case; there are stickers from a recent gig and the case is scuffed from travel. Losing them right before rehearsal tomorrow hit hard, and I’m hoping someone picked them up and kept them safe. If you found a black case with two saxophones, I’d be grateful to be reunited with these instruments.

Lost felines near Annapolis City Dock

I’m posting this because my two cats slipped out when the back gate rattled open after sunset. On Friday at 7:15 p.m., I last saw them near the Naval Academy Gate 4 area, just above the water by the City Dock. One is a shy gray tabby with a white patch on his chest; the other is a small calico with bright green eyes. They’ve lived with me since they were kittens, and I’m worried they’ll wander farther if I don’t find them soon. I’ve checked the paths behind Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and along the marina, calling their names and tapping a familiar tuna tin on the ground. I’m heartbroken and missing them terribly, hoping a friendly neighbor spots them tonight.
