Lost pet — how to find them fast

A fast, practical plan for finding a lost pet, plus the shelters and microchip registries to contact.

When a pet goes missing in Wenatchee, speed and visibility are everything. Most lost pets are found close to home within the first day.

  1. Search the immediate area. Check nearby gardens, sheds, and quiet spots. Bring treats and a familiar item, and call calmly.
  2. Alert the microchip registry. Flag your pet as missing with the microchip database so your details are current if they're scanned.
  3. Call local shelters and vets. Phone shelters, pounds, and veterinary practices around Wenatchee and ask them to note your pet's description.
  4. Post online and on lost-pet databases. Share clear photos in local community groups and lost-pet services.
  5. Put up visible notices. A simple poster with a photo, the area, and a contact number still works.
  6. Post a listing. Add a lost-pet listing for Wenatchee so found-pet reports nearby surface alongside yours.

Gray tabby cat with white paws, missing near Wenatchee

Hey, I lost my gray tabby cat yesterday around 3pm. He's a short-haired guy with white paws and bright green eyes, and he's wearing a blue collar with a small white heart-shaped tag that reads 'Mochi.' Last I saw, he bolted from the back door near Pybus Public Market on Worthen Ave and ran toward Riverfront Park. He has a tiny scar on his right ear and is usually friendly once he knows you, but he's skittish with strangers. Please help—this cat is part of our family and has sentimental value; I really need him back.

Bearded dragon Mango, lime green with orange beard

I lost Mango, my bearded dragon, yesterday around 3pm near Pybus Public Market on North Wenatchee Avenue. Mango is about 8 inches long from snout to tail, a vibrant lime green with an orange beard that flames up when he's curious. He has a faint dark stripe along his back and a tiny white scar under his chin from a past vet visit. He slipped out of his enclosure while I was tidying the living room, and I’m freaking out—he’s a beloved family member and means the world to us. If you spot him, email [email protected]; there’s a reward if he comes home safely.
