Description
On Saturday at 4:20 p.m., I wrapped up a quilting class and wandered to a cafe on Grand Avenue in Wausau to grab a snack. When I got back to my car in Marathon Park, the quilts were missing from the back seat. They’re two large handmade pieces, one blue patchwork and one cream with floral embroidery, gifts from my grandmother that I’ve carried through many moves. I’m heartsick about losing them, not just for the stitches but for the stories they carry.
