Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Tri-Cities are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Tri-Cities in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

LOST: GPS Devices

I misplaced two GPS devices while driving around downtown Tri-Cities. I parked near The Mall at Johnson City around 2:30 PM today and walked toward the courthouse, but by the time I returned, they were gone. The devices are small, black, and attached to a thin blue lanyard; one has a cracked screen from a previous drop, the other is newer with a faded sticker. This means a lot to me for navigation on a family trip, and I’m hoping someone found them and kept them safe until today. Please check the site for details if you’ve seen them.

Lost sheet music after ETSU rehearsal

I was at the East Tennessee State University Fine Arts Center for a small ensemble rehearsal on Tuesday at 7:45 pm. After we wrapped up, I rushed to the lobby and must have left my sheet music folder on a chair near the stage. The folder is black, a little battered, with pencil markings in the margins and a coffee stain on the cover. Those pieces mean a lot to me for my upcoming recital, and I’m hoping someone who found it will keep it safe until I can recover it. If this sounds like yours, please know it’s important to me.

Lost travel bags in Tri-Cities

Last Friday at 5:45 p.m., I realized my travel bags were missing from the Kingsport Town Center parking lot near the food court, in the Tri-Cities area. They’re two rolling suitcases; one is black with a red stripe, the other gray with a frayed handle. Inside are clothes, toiletries, and a travel journal from a recent trip. I’ve retraced my steps along Main Street and past the riverfront, but there’s no sign. I’m posting here in hopes someone in the community found them and kept them safe until I can get them back.

Lost photographs in Tri-Cities, Tennessee

I was sorting through a stack of family photos when I stepped out to take a call near Market Square in Johnson City around 6:15 p.m. last Tuesday. I must have left them on a bench, because when I got back they were gone. The album holds snapshots from my grandparents' 1985 birthday party and a cross-country trip we took as kids. Those pictures are all I have left of that time, and losing them hits me in the gut. If you found them, I’d appreciate it if you’d message me through the site so I can be reunited with these memories.

Black Ray-Ban glasses with silver hinges

I lost my black rectangular Ray-Ban glasses with silver hinges yesterday around 3pm near the Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick, in the Tri-Cities area. They’re matte-black frames, standard fit, with a tiny chip on the left temple near the hinge and a faint laser-etched star on the inside of the right temple. I kept them in a black soft pouch with a red interior, which I think I left behind in the food court area. They were a gift from my sister last year, so they mean a lot to me. I really need them back—I can't see well without them at work, and losing them has been stressful.

Blue passport in black sleeve, lost yesterday

I lost my blue passport yesterday around 3pm near the Starbucks at Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick. It's in a black fabric sleeve, with a small cherry-blossom sticker on the back and a tiny coffee stain on the inside cover. The passport itself is the standard blue cover, and I really need it back because it's my only travel document for now. If anyone found it, please message me; I can meet in the Tri-Cities area to pick it up, since we were planning a big trip soon and I can't replace it quickly.
