Description
After a talk at the Averitt Center for the Arts on East Main Street, I stepped outside at about 7:30 p.m. and set my camera bag down for a moment while I checked my notes. A folder with a dozen photographs—family portraits and old notes—slipped out when I zipped the bag shut. Those pictures carry faces from decades ago and a story I’m trying to hold onto, and losing them feels like losing part of my history.
