I am posting this as LOST: Scarves. I was at the Cocoa Beach Pier in Space Coast, Florida, around 4:15 p.m. yesterday, the sea breeze tugging at my coat as families lined up for sunset photos. My scarf is pale cream with a thin teal stripe and a couple of frayed ends, the kind I wear to brighten a gray day. I retraced the boardwalk from the fishermen's shack to the lifeguard stand, but I cannot find it anywhere and the moment feels empty without it.
