Lost your phone? Step-by-step recovery

Carrier contacts, Find My / Find My Device, and the local steps to recover or secure a lost phone.

Losing your phone in Space Coast is stressful, but acting quickly improves your odds of getting it back and limits the damage if it's gone for good. Work through these steps in order.

  1. Locate it remotely. Use Find My (iPhone) or Find My Device (Android) from another phone or computer to see the phone on a map, play a sound, and mark it as lost. Lost Mode locks the device and shows a contact message on the screen.
  2. Lock and message it. If it's nearby, the sound may be enough. If it isn't, enable Lost Mode and add a phone number where you can be reached.
  3. Call your carrier. Report the phone lost so they can suspend service and block the IMEI. This stops anyone running up charges and flags the handset across networks.
  4. Change key passwords. Update your email, banking, and social passwords, especially if the phone wasn't locked. Sign the device out of those accounts where you can.
  5. Report it locally. File a report with the police non-emergency line for Space Coast — a crime reference number is often required for insurance claims.
  6. Post a listing. Add a lost-phone listing for Space Coast so anyone who finds it can reach you privately.

Keep checking the map periodically — a phone that's off may reappear when it's charged.

Black Anker PowerCore 10K with braided USB-C cable

I lost my black Anker PowerCore 10,000mAh power bank yesterday around 3pm near the Cocoa Beach Pier, behind the Ron Jon Surf Shop on A1A along Space Coast. It had a braided gray USB-C cable attached and a small orange sticker with the initials 'AP' on the side. The device has a light dent on the top edge and a tiny scratch by the USB port, but otherwise it is in decent shape. It was a gift from my sister and means a lot to me, and I really need it back to stay connected on work trips and family calls.

Jet-black PS5 Disc Edition with blue controller skin

I lost my jet-black PlayStation 5 Disc Edition yesterday around 3pm. It was in Space Coast, near the Cocoa Beach Pier, on 2nd Street at Atlantic Avenue. The console is in good condition with a tiny scratch on the front edge, and the left controller has a blue silicone grip. There's a small Rocket Ship sticker on the top-left corner of the console, easy to spot if you look closely. It really matters to me because it's the system I play with every night, and it was a gift from my sister—if someone picked it up, I’d appreciate getting it back.

Lost Nintendo Switch with blue and red Joy-Con controllers near a friend's house around Space Coast.

I lost my Nintendo Switch while visiting a friend's house around Space Coast last weekend. I was playing a few games on it and absentmindedly left it on the coffee table. I realized it was missing the next day when I tried to play it again and couldn't find it anywhere. It has a blue and red Joy-Con controller and my favorite game, Animal Crossing, was still in the console. If anyone finds it, please let me know!
