Description
I left three small sculptures on a bench by the Solomons Island Lighthouse boardwalk around 3:15 PM on Saturday, October 5, and by the time I turned back they were gone. The pieces are about six inches tall, ceramic with pale blue glazes, each on a dark wooden base—one a fisherman, one a lighthouse keeper, one a seagull. They were a gift from my grandmother, a reminder of sunny afternoons by the Patuxent River, and I’m sick with worry at the thought of them being picked up by someone who doesn’t understand their meaning.
