I realized around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday that my devices were missing from the bench near the Calvert County Courthouse, along Solomons Island Road in Southern Maryland. The pile included a tablet, a small laptop, and a charger; they were in a black tote with a distinctive red strap. I had stopped to stretch my legs after a long drive from Lexington Park, and I remember leaving the tote on the bench while I checked a map. It’s hard to stay calm when your work depends on those devices, so I’m hoping they’ve been found and kept safe around the Solomons Island Boardwalk.
