I found a cockatiel this afternoon around 2:30pm near Bubblegum Alley on Higuera Street in downtown San Luis Obispo. It's palm-sized, mostly gray with a bright yellow crest and orange cheek patches, and it wears a tiny light-blue leg band labeled D7. The bird seemed calm and curious, perched on my shoulder for a bit before fluttering to a railing. It's clearly someone's pet—it chirped when I spoke softly and didn't seem afraid of people. If you're missing a bird like this, please contact me so I can help reunite you.
