Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around San Diego are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for San Diego in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

lost Felines near Balboa Park, San Diego

I lost my Felines around 7:15 p.m. Friday near the Balboa Park entrance. They’re two indoor cats who slipped out while I was loading groceries into my car behind the museums. One is orange with a white bib, the other a gray tabby with a small notch in his ear. I’ve walked every block from the park’s paths to Park Boulevard calling their names, hoping they’ve just curled up somewhere warm. They’re my family, and the thought of them out there at night breaks my heart.

Lost canines near Balboa Park

I’m Sophie Martinez, and I’m posting because I lost my two dogs in San Diego. It happened around 6:40 p.m. on Friday during a walk near Balboa Park’s Prado area. One dog is a tan terrier mix with a blue collar and a white chest patch; the other is a black lab mix wearing a red bandana. I last saw them by the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, and my heart sank as the calls faded into the sunset. They’re my family’s joy, and I’m terrified they might be scared and hungry out there. If you found them, please contact through the site so we can bring them home.

Lost Action Figures in San Diego

I lost my action figures around 3:00 p.m. yesterday while I was wandering Balboa Park, near the Fleet Science Center. They’re a small lot: three bright plastic figures, two superhero figures with chipped paint and one colorful robot, all scuffed from years of play. I had tucked them into a backpack, then sat on a bench by a fountain, and realized they were gone when I stood up. Those figures are more than toys—they carry a lot of memories from countless Saturday afternoons, and I’m hoping someone turned them in to the site.

Lost synthesizers near Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego

Last Friday around 9:15 PM, my compact synthesizers disappeared from the back of the rental van after a quick set on Market Street. They are a pair of black modulars with a blue LED panel and a battered pedal board. I remember packing up near Balboa Park Organ Pavilion, the palm trees swaying as a cool breeze swept in from the Marina. The memory of the gear, its warm glow in the club lights, aches every time I think about it.

Lost handheld and console in San Diego

Last Friday around 7:15 PM, I was near Seaport Village after walking by the USS Midway Museum and I must have left my handheld and console somewhere along the promenade. It’s a gray handheld in a slim black protective case, with a blue sticker on the corner and a small scuff on the edge. I remember setting my bag down to take a photo near the Shoreline Fountain, then stepping away to grab a snack. I’m really worried because I rely on it for work notes and weekend gaming with friends. If someone finds it, I’d be grateful to get it back.
