Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around San Diego are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for San Diego in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost handheld and console in San Diego

Last Friday around 7:15 PM, I was near Seaport Village after walking by the USS Midway Museum and I must have left my handheld and console somewhere along the promenade. It’s a gray handheld in a slim black protective case, with a blue sticker on the corner and a small scuff on the edge. I remember setting my bag down to take a photo near the Shoreline Fountain, then stepping away to grab a snack. I’m really worried because I rely on it for work notes and weekend gaming with friends. If someone finds it, I’d be grateful to get it back.

Lost: Airline in San Diego area.

I’ve lost my Airline in San Diego, California. This morning, around 9:40 a.m., I realized it was missing while I was walking through the Gaslamp Quarter near 5th Avenue and Market Street. It’s a small, rectangular item with the word Airline printed on the front and a few travel notes inside. I’ve retraced my steps and asked at a couple of shops, but no luck. It’s important to me because it holds details for my upcoming trip and a lot of memories. I’m hoping it turns up soon and can be reunited with its owner.

Lost devices near Seaport Village, San Diego.

I was at Seaport Village along the boardwalk this Sunday around 2:30 PM when I realized my bag with my devices was gone. Inside were my silver laptop, a black tablet, and the charger that keeps both alive. I retraced my steps past the tide pools and the little cafe near the carousel, but the bag never showed up. Losing them feels terrifying because I need them for a week-long conference and to stay connected with family and work.

Lost Adapters near Balboa Park

I was packing for a sunlit work trip on Saturday at 11:20 a.m. in Balboa Park after a quick bite nearby. I realized I had lost my adapters, a small case with USB-C connectors, while I was moving between my laptop and a power strip near the Botanical Building. I retraced my steps along Park Boulevard, past the palm trees and the lily ponds, but the case didn’t show up. These adapters are essential for my edits, and I’m feeling stranded without them during a big project. If someone turned them in, I’d be grateful to be reunited with them.

Lost USB drives near Seaport Village, San Diego

I was packing up after a quick workshop at Seaport Village on Tuesday around 4:20 PM when my bag slipped from my shoulder and my USB drives tumbled out. The three drives hold work projects and personal backups, and I’m anxious they might be gone for good. I retraced steps along the harbor, checked the coffee shop by the fountain, and asked a couple of vendors, but the crowd was loud and I had to leave for a meeting. I’m clinging to hope that someone turned them in or found them near the Seaport Village signage. If you found a small black USB case labeled with my initials, please reach out via the site so I can reclaim them.

Engagement ring lost at Liberty Station lost T

Engagement ring lost at Liberty Station

Missing engagement ring - Liberty Station. I took a class with the San Diego Craft Collective at Liberty Station this past Saturday, June 13th. Unfortunately, I took my engagement ring off and put it in my pocket to keep it safe (ironic; just as ironic: the class was to celebrate our anniversary) and when I went to put it back on afterward, it was gone. I retraced my steps and checked with the Collective staff, but was unable to find it. I suspect it may have fallen out in the restroom, or possibly the parking lot. Really hoping someone may have found it. 🤞
