Found: Hamsters near Sinnissippi Park, Rockford
I was out for a sunset stroll along the Rock River near Sinnissippi Park in Rockford around 7:25 p.m. on Saturday when I spotted two tiny hamsters scurrying under a park bench. One was grey, the other tan, both looking exhausted and a little frightened. I tucked them into a reusable tote with a soft cloth and kept them warm while I checked around for any clue they belonged to someone. They seemed well cared-for, just scared after getting away from home. I kept them secure in a quiet corner of my car until I could post here. Bright green budgie with blue cheeks, lost
I lost my bright green budgie yesterday around 3pm near the Riverwalk behind the Discovery Center on State Street in Rockford. It's a small parakeet, about 5 inches tall, with blue cheeks, a yellow beak, and a blue cap. He wears a tiny orange leg band with the number 42, and there's millet seeds dusting his chest from nibbling today. This bird was a gift from my grandmother and means the world to me, so I’m really hoping someone saw him and can message me if they spot him.

Found a beagle mix dog this afternoon around 3:45pm near the Rockford Public Library on Main Street. It's a medium-sized pup with a tan and white coat, and it wears a bright blue nylon collar with a small heart-shaped tag that reads 'Luna' and a tiny white patch on its left hind leg. He seemed friendly and curious, wagging his tail as I walked him to the corner by Riverfront Park; he doesn't appear injured and I didn’t notice a microchip.
