Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Peoria are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Peoria in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost radios in Peoria, IL

Two radios were left on a bench by the Peoria Riverfront this evening around 6:45 PM. I had paused to check a map on my phone and must have stepped away for a moment; when I turned back, the radios were gone. The bigger one is a vintage black and silver transistor model, and the smaller is a gray handheld walkie-talkie. They belonged to my grandfather and my uncle, so they carry memories as well as tunes. I’ve retraced Market Street and checked the Peoria Public Library area, but I haven’t found them yet.

Lost Organizers at Peoria Riverfront Park

I’m Emily Carter, and I’m a bit frazzled but hopeful. I lost my Organizers yesterday at 5:30 p.m., during setup for a charity run at Peoria Riverfront Park, near the Caterpillar Visitors Center. They’re a metal set, painted green with an orange stripe, a little scuffed from travel. I rely on them for the sign-up tables and the spacing between stations, and I can’t shake the thought they’re somewhere along the river path or under the small footbridge by the gazebo. I retraced my steps tonight and this morning, listening for the clink of metal against the pavement. If someone picked them up thinking they were junk, please know how important they are for keeping the event organized and moving smoothly.

Black iPad Pro 11-inch with blue case

I lost my black iPad Pro 11-inch with a cracked screen yesterday around 3:40pm near Riverfront Park on Water Street in Peoria. It’s in a blue Speck case and has a small cat sticker on the back, plus a worn Lightning charger tucked inside the case. The device holds work documents and a few family photos, so it’s pretty important to me to get it back. I last had it by the riverfront snack stand and might have set it down while I checked messages. If you found it, please text me; I’d really appreciate returning it.

Red 5x7 poetry book with dedication

I lost my red 5x7 poetry book yesterday around 3pm outside the Peoria Public Library on Main Street. It’s a paperback from Lumen Press, about 5 by 7 inches, with a slightly worn red cover and a black spine. Inside, there’s a handwritten dedication on the first page and a light blue highlighter mark on page 42; the back cover also has a tiny coffee stain. It’s sentimental because it was a gift from a friend, and I kept a small bookmark tucked between pages. If anyone found it, please reach out—I’d really appreciate getting it back so I can finish the poem I was rereading.

Black Fossil watch with blue stitching

I lost my Fossil chronograph watch yesterday around 3pm, somewhere near Riverfront Park in downtown Peoria. It's a black leather strap, 42mm stainless steel case with blue stitching along the edges, and there's a small scratch near the 2 o'clock crown. The back is engraved with the initials 'J.S.' and the dial has a subtle sunburst silver finish. It was a gift from my dad and I really miss it—it's sentimental, and I’d be incredibly grateful to get it back. If anyone found it, please drop a message here.
