Last Friday, around 9:15 p.m., I realized my travel bags were missing after I stepped out of a restaurant near Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando. The bags are a navy rolling suitcase and a smaller carry-on with a green tag. Inside there are clothes, a camera case, and a couple of travel guides from different trips. I retraced my steps along East Church Street and around the illuminated fountain, but the bags were already gone. It’s unsettling to feel so exposed on a night out, but I keep hoping someone honest picked them up.
