I was helping load a group of moving boxes around 8:15 PM on Friday when a bin of appliances slipped out of my truck near the Irvine Spectrum Center in Orange County. I lost them in that moment—the portable blender, the toaster oven, and the little coffee maker I rely on every day. I searched the surrounding parking structures and along the pedestrian bridges, but they’re nowhere to be found.
